2. Description:

Corrugated web H beam welding is different from ordinary flat web H beam straight seam welding. The moving path of welding gun is approximate to positive spiral wave curve.Therefore, the welding will be realized by controlling 3 direction movement (X, Y, Z) of welding gun. Meanwhile, the corrugated web is made by continuous bending process, which will inevitably lead to the plate with bad uniformity be deformed.

The corrugated web will also be deformed during the welding process because of expansion with heat and contracting with cold. Because of the existing deformation, we cannot guild the welding gun weld according to advanced planned trajectory. For this reason, we developed five axis linkage CNC system with scientific research institute. Through CNC system, it will control the welding gun and visual tracking feedback system’s 3 directions movement of X, Y and Z to realize the welding of work-piece.

The movement of welding gun and visual tracking system on X axis is realized by Japanese Panasonic AC servo motor which drives Japanese SHIMPO planetary reducer via gear and rack transmission couple. The moving speed of tracking and collecting feedback system and welding gun is always the same at any time. The movement on Y axis and Z axis is realized by Japanese Panasonic AC servo motor which drives lead screw and screw nut couple.

Visual tracking feedback system consists of laser generator which is for positioning and industrial camera which is for collecting and feedback. The camera features intensive pixel point and high recognition accuracy. According to the red laser stripe from laser generator, it can adopt automatic curve tracking mode and recognize the width information of welding seam trough the changes of pixel points (because the imaging characteristic on welding seam is different from the position without welding seam) to control the visual device for next movement trend. Then, the best welding seam position information will be achieved by adjusting the lens focal distance. The welding gun will get required moving trajectory according the welding seam position from visual tracking feedback system and offset relation (fixed) between welding gun and visual device. Welding while scanning, it is fast and accurate.
